One of the challenges we face with our 21 month old daughter, that was recently diagnosed witm MWS, is her sleep pattern. She consistently wakes up at night ready to play, pretty much since she was born. We tried may different methods suggested in books with no success... We started using Melatonin and it worked in the begining (she slept 9 hours instead of 6!), but it seems to not be working anymore.. Does anyone experience the same problem?
Laura

Laura, You are not the only one. We have just recently gotten my son who is 7 to sleep past 3 or 4. He still has moments but is a lot better. I can honestly say that I don't think that I have ever had to wake him up. 6 hours a night seems to be enough for him and then he wants to play. He still takes a nap and we tried taking the nap away, but it didn't make any difference. Now he sleeps from 10 to 5. Sometimes he will still try to get up at 4, but for the most part he makes it till 5. Hang in there, for me it has gotten better as he got older. Mary

Having gone for many years sleeping REALLY well 7pm - 7am my son is now much more unsettled. He is waking around 5am but still tired and just want to be cuddled and then goes back to sleep - as long as you are with him. Or he wakes at 3am and wants to play! Tried Melatonin last night and I swear it made him giggle for half an hour - he then fell asleep but still woke at 5am. Tonight tried physically wearing him out by throwing and fetching games but he still hung in there until 9.30pm. Lets see what happens.....
