I have a little boy who was recently diagnosed with MWS. He had a second heart surgery last Oct. 16 and has been in the hospital ever since with Pancreatitus. The doctors have said they are mystified as to why he doesn't seem to be getting any better. I was wondering if this is anything that is common to MWS. He has never had any problems with his Pancreas before. Has anyone else had to deal with this before?

Hi
We keep an eye on Lee and check him for diabetes when we take blood
tests. We do this because diabetes is in our family - I am a diabetic.
We are always concerned that Lee will become type 2 as well.

Pancreatitis is, I believe, related to diabetes, the pancreas doesn't
make enough insulin.
My mother had a pancreas attack and they dicovered she had Diabetes.

I know what happens when the pancreas doesn't work right, but not sure
how it affects our kids. Lee hasn't shown any symptoms of diabetes -
Thank God!

Shez
